Start the year with this fun getting to know you Bunting which can be added to throughout the year. Get to know your students as they add Facts about themselves What their favorite things are Self Portraits A letter to their teacher Their thoughts about school What each student would like to learn throughout the year and how best to support them. Students cut out each of the triangles which make up the display, Staple them together Color in their Kid Topper Glue it to the top to be displayed around the room Write a letter to their new teacher at the start and finish of the school year as a reflection activity which serves as both a keepsake and a momento of their term with you as their teacher. (US and UK/AUS spelling versions included) This is a fun activity to do with your students at the beginning of a new school year! They look fabulous when they are displayed together around the room! You could also do this activity if you’re a relief/substitute teacher, since you want to build relationships with the students! The students love it when you want to learn more about them! There are so many picture books available it was hard to choosewhich ones to include in this booklet. You will receive A 27 page PDF which has some lapbook printable worksheets, coloring ideas and spelling activities. • worksheets for spelling and writing • lapbooks for spelling and writing • create a class mural by combining the finished pictures created by your kiddos • over 3 amazing website links with hundreds of games to use on IWB, themes of work and activities to help you plan the best unit ever!! I am a great fan of linked images when I am creating a resource to use in class. There are over 4 images linked to some fantastic websites that I have researched and included because of their incredible imagery and activities. I have always found this a great way to plan my resources, and I hope that you do too. This means that you are able to simply keep this unit of work on your thumbdrive and click directly onto the links as you need. There are hints for what to take with you on Relief days with links to some great Relief Teaching ideas pages. The suggested timetable has interactive links to my pinterest board, so that your resources will continue to grow as more pins are added. Within the book there are over 6 links to websites, and for those of you who follow my ‘Surviving Casual Teaching’ facebook group, you will know that I have a good working knowledge of helpful teaching resources. I recommend that you buy copies of the two recommended picture books for days when you may not have IWB capability. Narrative writing with a twist Bring your narrative story writing to ‘life’ with this set of Spooky themed story templates.
